Better seat for FL250?
« on: November 19, 2006, 06:35:44 PM »
My '83 fl250 is great.  Fast and fun!  The ride is a bit rough though without a rear suspension.  I think the seat angle / back support is making it worse.  After a hard day of riding, my back hurts for a couple of days.

Has anyone replaced their stock seat with something better?  What about some sort of a molded seat with more shape to it?

I just got my fl250 and have been researching the snot out of them. I read somewhere that one modification to make the ride somewhat softer was to mount the seat on an old set of automotive valve springs. As soon as I get my hands on some I am going to try it. Hope this helps.

you can run a fiberglass racing seat in the odys with some fab work... something similar to what they use in a sand rail or dune buggy. it is just a high-back fiberglass tub seat with a cover on it... trying to find a link.
