Any one got any ideas on replacement ball joint for the pilot A-arms, is there a way to replace them?

The only practical way to replace the ball joint on a stock arm is to cut  the existing ball joint out of the arm and weld in a threaded bung. Use a  threaded ball joint from somewhere like lonestar, or If I remember correctly a tie-rod end off of an early 70's VW bug will fit as well. I am thinking it was the RH inner tie-rod end. You'd have to check the ends to make sure though.

You might also be able to send your arms to ATV Racing in Phoenix for them to repair. 623-516-8640

Sorry i forgot to say that im in the uk and would likt to get the joint A.S.A.P and getting them from the US is going to take some time, but  what i can get are the VW Beetle track/tie rod ends, but could you find out the year? Will these one do their for a 68-80 year http://www.amsteer.co.uk/index.php?cPath=72_73.
Does the right han and left hand make a difference, i guess they are only sided for thread?

Thanks

Take your spindle into the local automotive shop and have a look at the inner tie-rod ends from a beetle. Find the one with the correct taper, and then choose the one that has standard threads.

OK a quick search revealed that these 2 part numbers should work.

MOOG part # for Laegar's A-arm ball joints. It is ES419R (made by many manufacturers), or a ES2074R. The should run you around $12.00 US each.

You should be able to cross reference off of those numbers.

More Info. Cross of the above part ES419R:
