I WAS  playing with the idea. I have since sold the 350's I was going to modify. What I found out.

The 350 tranny output shaft has the same spline pattern as the 350 hub (which incidentally is the same as the FL250 rear hub, and the 400ex rear hub) I was going to get a set of hubs and machine them to the same diameter as the inner CV joint of a 1995 geo metro passenger side drive shaft, and weld that together. I was going to use the bearing carrier and hub  from the metro as the new bearing carrier and hub for the 350.

The rear suspension was going to be constructed very similar to the drakart rear and new trailing arms , and shock mounts were going to be made. I had planned on using fox air shocks for the rear suspension.

Does this mean that if I wanted to replace the rear hubs on my FL350 I could just bolt on a set of 400ex hubs?  Would be nice to be able to change the bolt pattern for different wheel options.

Theres a guy on ebay who tries to sell 400ex hubs as "custom FL350" hubs. He usually sells them for about 80 bucks if I'm not mistaken. You can pick up a set of 400ex hubs from a salvage place for around 40 usually. Try Cycle Werks in Clevland Ohio

I've seen those.  So they are just 400ex hubs?  Thanks.  I had looked at those and considered buying them at some point in the future.  Now that I know they are just regular hubs I'll just find a used set somewhere.

Anyone have any suggestions on a set of nice wheels to go with those hubs that will stay close to the stock width?

400ex hubs

I thought they were only about $40 new. They do not have the lip that the wheel seal rides on.

This machine has 400ex hubs on it: http://www.aftershockmotorsports.com/photos/display.jsp?index=12

The owner had rings made for the seal to ride on that are held on by the hub.
