Title: Shifting problem
Post by: EDDIE2154 on August 15, 2019, 12:50:56 AM
I own a honda odyssey 350 and when I shift I can shift into drive easily but it Is very hard to get it into reverse. Has anyone had this problem? Any advice on what to do? Or what to check?

Could check adjustment on the cables, make sure the lever shifts smoothly, lube cables, etc.

I have the same issue with shifting to rev ...can anyone suggest the right adjustments on the cables and or any thing else? I do not own a manual.
Oh ..... if anyone can point the right direction for parts ...currently looking for part 54214-VM0-000, its the shift lever boot.

thanx,
Jav

If you disconnect the cables, you should be able to shift using the cable mount on the gear box. The cables need to be adjusted such that when moving the lever, the cable mount on the gear box moves the correct amount and moves to neutral when the lever is straight up. With the cables disconnected from the gear box, the lever should be able to very easily move. If it does not, then there is a problem with the cables or the lever.
