Get your stock tank cleaned and coated inside. The typical tank used for the spun tanks is an 8x18 which holds about 4.5 gallons, typically advertised as 5 gallon. It will raise the center of gravity of the machine. The 18" tank will still stick out of the cage some allowing it to get hit in a roll over.

This is the one people commonly use: http://www.aftershockmotorsports.com/Custom-Buggy-Parts/Fuel-and-Air/Aluminum-Gas-Tank

This one is shorter so it at least it would fit in the cage width wise: http://www.aftershockmotorsports.com/Custom-Buggy-Parts/Fuel-and-Air/Stainless-Gas-Tank
It is larger in diameter making it about the same size in gallons. The gas cap is more like a modern car instead of a 60s truck so it probably won't leak.
