FL 350 4x110 rear conversion.
« on: August 01, 2012, 10:59:01 AM »
Recently spoke with Hiper about a set of 4x130 rear wheels...and they just wont make the centers for the application anymore. (unless it is in bulk) SUCKS...but oh well not too many wheelers that would benefit from hipers sitting on a 4x130 bolt pattern. NOW...in the face of this I am starting to lean towards a 4x110 rear conversion for the 350. Who can give me some info on which hubs work the best...from which wheeler? Is there any specific extra offset or custom machining needed to match the carrier seals and correct axle length? How about the spline? Is it a typical honda spline?

It is a common Honda spline. The gotchas are the lip for the seal and the length from the bearing to the nut. The hubs 4x4tuff used to sell did not allow the nut to go on far enough for the cotter pin to go in. I machine the back of the hubs to make the seal lip. This also fixes the second problem by letting the hub go back in and get the cotter pin in. The offset ends up essentially identical.
