Oil Ratio and Spark Plugs
« on: June 04, 2008, 11:59:56 AM »
What is the recommended / suggested ratio for oil/gas??? im running 32-1 ratio now. Also anyone have pics of what a plug should look like when everything is running good? When i 1st got my Oddy a few weeks back it was smoking like crazy, sputtering under power and the plug was nasty blk and oiled up. I drained the tank, remixed 32-1 oil gas and it doesnt smoke much at all now. Havent looked at plug yet.

Most run 40:1 with a good synthetic oil like bel-ray, amsoil, golden spectro, honda hp2, yamalube or maxima. None of the stuff from wally world.

Here is a great page on jetting.

And here is one on spark plugs.

As far as plug color goes you are looking for something that resembles a nice brown pancake. One thing about the synthetic oils is that they generally burn much cleaner than non-synthetic oils.

Here is a copy of links I have put together over the years.
